I called Kamand at (415) 861-8895; the guy with a very heavy Israeli accent quoted me a price: $29 to come out, $30 per opened lock, he told me to await a call from a technician. Within minutes, the technician "Liv" (another heavy Israeli accent) called from (415) 762-4512; he came to my building, didn't bother asking me for ID, proof of residence, anything. He cut-off a lockbox then smashed it open with a hammer, as requested. But, hammer in-hand, he shouted at me, demanding $160. I tried to protest a little, but the guy was holding a hammer and shouting at me, so I caved and gave him the money. He had me sign a blank receipt, with no company logo. But he didn't give me the receipt. His jalopy, a black truck, had no company logo. I called his number a few days later, and while I was trying to politely state a complaint, he screamed obscenities at me. I called the first number at Kamand, the guy "Eddie" claimed Liv wasn't his technician; but rather, he was someone who has been stealing business from Kamand and ruining his good name for years. He offered to give me $160 to keep me from reporting to the SFPD, the IRS, the INS (they all had heavy Israeli accents), the FBI, and the Contractors Licensing Board. I declined. He refused to simply repay me for the fraud committed by Liv. He did repeatedly ask for my address, though. Pretty scary. I never got my money back (I'll see these creeps in court!). Let's hope these thugs get deported back to Isra-hell where they belong.
